I have lived in the Borough of Southend since the age of four and in Shoeburyness for thirty-four years. I am married to Evelyn and have two adult sons.
Prior to becoming a Councillor I was for ten years Chair of the Shoeburyness Residents Association and Chair of COBRA (Coalition of Borough Residents Associations) of which I was the founder member.
I was first elected to Southend Borough Council as an Independent in September 2007 in a by- election and re-elected in May 2008 and currently sit on the following Committees:
· Children & Lifelong Learning
· Development Control.
· Appeals Committee “A”
· Safeguarding Children’s Forum Scrutiny
· Buses Working Party
· Holocaust & Honours Working Party
I am also Health and Safety Champion for Southend-on-Sea.
